|Base Type (Full Base, Half Deck, Cleats and Plywood)
The base/deck of crates and pallets can have different configuration, based on the load to carry, the load distribution, and the footing/type of contact of the load with the deck.
|Format of the Crate
Your crate can be designed and delivered to you in a format that will make packaging and unloading easier, and/or transportation cheaper (when empty).
The format of your crate and the types of fasteners used will be defined by your specific situation and objectives, the weight, size, fragility and packaging of your piece, and the use of the crate (single or multiple use). Example of formats are:

|Ramps and Doors (Internal and External)
Ramps and doors are providing you with easy access to the content of the crate, with the use of simple tools, or no tools at all. Ramps allow to easily move large equipment or “inner crates” in and out of the main crate in an effortless fashion. Ramps and doors are often used in reusable crates and show crates.
The choice of internal or external ramps and doors depends on the load to be packed and transported, the use of the crate, and the mode of transportation used.
The profile, number and positioning of the crate or pallet’s risers vary based on the weight of the load to be transported, the space required for the fork lifts, and the storage and/or shipping space available.
Our risers are typically made of multiple pieces of lumber (see picture on the left).
This allows to better secure the risers to the base of the crate or pallet, and prevent them from rolling when the load is pushed by forklifts and slides on the ground.
|Cushioned Risers (Foam, Skid-Mates, Spring)
Risers can be designed to absorb shocks and/or vibration and protect the load. Multiple options and design are available to you, based on your specific needs.
Example of options are risers engineered with foam inserts of various density, Skid Mates of various load bearing capacity, and springs.
|Wire Springs Risers
Specialty risers designed to absorb shocks and/or vibration and protect very fragile loads. The size of the wire used and the number of loops vary, based on your specific needs.
Based on the need and the load’s packaging, crates and pallets can be lined with various materials, from carpet, to foams for various densities and thickness, plastic sheets, and even Foam-in-Place molds.
The best cushioning/lining solution will be defined by your specific situation and objectives, the fragility and packaging of your piece, and the use of the crate or pallet (single or multiple use).
|Partitions, Shelves, Drawers, and Access Doors
The interior of your crate can be designed to both give you easy access to the multiple pieces forming your load, and maximize the protection of the individual pieces during transport.
The best “interior” design will be defined by your specific situation and objectives, the number of pieces forming the load, the size, weight, fragility and packaging of the various pieces, and the use of the crate or pallet (single or multiple use).
Gussets are used to strengthen the joints of the crate, as “bumpers,” and/or to protect the hardware of the crate. They can be made of various materials: lumber, plywood, metal, or any other material that will fulfill the need.
The shape of the gussets is defined by their specific purpose: strength, protection, your specific requirements, or a combination of all of them.

We can vacuum pack your items, to ensure that they are not damaged during storage and/or transportation, due to moisture or the effects of sea air during ocean transportation. We use a military-grade vapor barrier bag that we vacuum seal on site. We also put desiccant inside the bag to eliminate any moisture that could be trapped inside the bag during the packing process.
